Weather forecast was not encouraging but the cloud was clearing in the morning, leaving a film of milky high cloud which was slowly clearing. The Sun has three active areas: there are white light spots visible in AR1056 near the centre of the disc (three small spots), AR1054 near the west limb (a couple of pores which are all that remain of this once great region) and a new, unnumbered active area just appearing at the east limb.
