Fine morning though windy (too windy for me to use the FLT "big gun") and with increasing cloud. In the two days that cloud prevented me from observing, the major spot group AR1054 has declined to a very small spot and a few pores. There are also some pores associated with the "new" spot group AR1056. The white light disc is otherwise blank. AR1054 in CaK and Ha: 2010 Mar 19, 0940 UT. Solarscope 60 @ f/24, DMK21. 2010 Mar 19, 0933 UT. 60mm @ f/25, Lunt B1200 CaK diagonal, DMK21. AR 1056 in Ha & CaK: 2010 Mar 19, 0941 UT. Solarscope 60 @ f/24, DMK21. 2010 Mar 19, 0934 UT. 60mm @ f/25, Lunt B1200 CaK diagonal, DMK21. The whole northern part of the Sun is still festooned with filaments: 2010 Mar 19, 0950 UT. Solarscope 60 @ f/8, DMK41 There are notable prominences on the SW and SE limbs: 2010 Mar 19, 0944 UT. Solarscope 60 @ f/24, DMK21 2010 Mar 19, 0946 UT. Solarscope 60 @ f/24, DMK21 But the highlight is still the persistent bright giant prominence on the NW limb: 2010 Mar 19, 0943 UT. Solarscope 60 @ f/24, DMK21 CaK overview: 2010 Mar 19, 0919 UT. Coronado PST CaK @ f/10, DMK41 Ha overview - a "one shot" but with disc details & proms processed differently: 2010 Mar 19, 0926 UT. SOlarscope 60 @ f/5, DMK41. Transparency good though with very thin high cloud. Seeing fairly good. Temp 12C, wind NW force 5 gusting 6 - 7.
