March 3rd was a "greyout" but the cloud cleared at dusk & has stayed more or less clear ever since - occasional very thin high cloud but not interfering with observations to any great extent.
ARs 1051, 1052 & 1053 still contain small spots visible in "white light". As ARs 1052 & 1053 approach the limb, associated "white light" faculae are also becoming visible.
2010 Mar 04, 1045 UT. 80mm, Baader solar film (ND5.0) & solar continuum filter, x4 Imagemate (f/24), DMK21.
The plages are also bright in Ha and CaK.
2010 Mar 04, 1104 UT. Solarscope 60, x2 barlow (f/16), DMK21.
2010 Mar 04, 1122 UT. 60mm, Lunt B1200 CaK diagonal, 3x barlow (f/25), DMK21.
AR 1051 is still interesting in Ha & CaK:
2010 Mar 04, 1100 UT. Solarscope 60, x2 barlow (f/16), DMK21.
2010 Mar 04, 1124 UT. 60mm, Lunt B1200 CaK diagonal, 3x barlow (f/25), DMK21.
There is an interesting small but bright prominence on the SW limb:
2010 Mar 04, 1115 UT. Solarscope 60, x4 Imagemate (f/32), DMK21.
But the main point of interest is the bright hedgerow associated with the "unnumbered" activity on the north east limb.
2010 Mar 04, 1107 UT. Solarscope 60, x2 barlow (f/16), DMK21. This is a "one shot" with different processing for the prominences & surface details.
Just for completeness, the usual CaK and Ha disk shots:
2010 Mar 04, 1037 UT. Coronado PsT CaK, prime focus (f/10), DMK41.
2010 Mar 04, 1057 UT. Solarscope 60, Atik 0.5x focal reducer (f/5), DMK41.
Transparency variable, good to very good, but with occasional very thin high cloud. Seeing moderate. Temperature +7C, wind SW force 2.
