Just a brief hole in the clouds, still I did manage to observe a strange very bright object in the sky which I believe may have been the Sun  White Light: AR1051 in the north east quadrant has a medium sized spot with multiple umbrae accompanied by a small spot. Otherwise disc blank. 2010 Feb 27, 1150 UT. 80mm, x4 Imagemate (f/24), Baader solar film (ND5.0) & solar continuum filter, DMK21. Calcium K: Plages associated with AR1051 & AR1050 (which seems to be decaying), disc otherwise quiet. 2010 Feb 27, 1142 UT. Coronado PST CaK, prime focus (f/10), DMK41. Hydrogen alpha: Plages associated with AR1051 & AR1050, disk otherwise quiet. Notable arch prominence on NW limb. Numerous faint prominences in SW sector, also on E limb. 2010 Feb 27, 1203 UT. Solarscope 60, Atik 0.5x focal reducer (f/5), DMK41. High resolution imaging impossible due to persistent cloud which moved in immediately after this last image was captured. Transparency very good but with intermittent cloud. Seeing moderate. Temperature +6C, wind SE force 4.
