Another sunny day! Solar activity has quietened down a bit; AR1047 is no longer a spot group, though it still has a sizeable plage in CaK; AR1045 seems less active, but it's still flaring, and AR1046 is becoming more complex & more active. Prominences are numerous but none are spectacular. Whole disc images: 2010 Feb 10, 1109 UT. Coronado PST CaK, prime focus (f/10), DMK41. 2010 Feb 10, 1139 UT. Solarscope 60, Atik 0.5x reducer, DMK41. AR 1045 in white light, CaK and Ha: 2010 Feb 10, 1130 UT. 80mm refractor, 4x Imagemate (f/24), Baader ND5.0 solar film & solar continuum filter, DMK21. 2010 Feb 10, 1158 UT. 60mm refractor, 3x barlow (f/18.9), Lunt B1200 CaK diagonal, DMK21. 2010 Feb 10, 1153 UT. Solarscope 60, 4x Imagemate (f/32), DMK41. Note the flare, also the filament at the west end of the AR which has now grown to huge proportions. The old quiescent filament (not on this image) still exists but is small in comparison. AR 1046 in white light, CaK and Ha: 2010 Feb 10, 1131 UT. 80mm refractor, 4x Imagemate (f/24), Baader ND5.0 solar film & solar continuum filter, DMK21. 2010 Feb 10, 1159 UT. 60mm refractor, 3x barlow (f/18.9), Lunt B1200 CaK diagonal, DMK21. 2010 Feb 10, 1149 UT. Solarscope 60, 4x Imagemate (f/32), DMK21. Transparency very good but with occasional drifting cloud. Seeing variable, good at times but mostly fairly poor, with a deteriorating tendency - solar heating? Temperature +7C, wind E force 2.
