Another day when the clouds broke during the morning - a better break than yesterday, and still plenty to see! I'm breaking the day's report into parts again as there is too much for a single thread. In white light, three active areas; AR1045 continues huge, AR1046 is complex but has only small spots and AR1047 (the new group noted yesterday) still has only one spot, which appears to have shrunk a bit. 1046 & 1047 also have associated faculae, just about visible on the full disc shot. 2010 Feb 09, 1053 UT. 80mm refractor, Atik x0.5 focal reducer, Baader ND5.0 solar film & solar continuum filter, DMK41. AR 1045 in white light closeup: 2010 Feb 09, 1053 UT. 80mm refractor, 4x Imagemate (f/32), Baader ND5.0 solar film & solar continuum filter, DMK21. Whole disk in Calcium light: 2010 Feb 09, 1047 UT. Coronado PST CaK, prime focus (f/10), DMK41. Close ups of the active areas to follow (being processed). Whole disc in hydrogen alpha: 2010 Feb 09, 1111 UT. Solarscope 60, Atik 0.5x focal reducer, DMK41. (Proms & disc exposed seperately) Close ups of the active areas to follow (being processed). Prominence on the NNE limb: 2010 Feb 09, 1111 UT. Solarscope 60, 4x Imagemate (f/32), DMK41. Transparency good (but with occasional drifting cloud), seeing variable, sometimes quite good but sometimes with substantial boiling. Temp +6C, wind E force 3.

Great images Brian, you've been luckier than I with the clouds. I have to wait till lunchtime for the sun to hit my drive and every day so far it has clouded over However, managed this shot at 1418UT but by then the seeing was quite bouncy. Attachments:
