A couple of small but honest spots on the Sun today - about on the meridian, seem to be low latitude therefore old cycle - what's happened to the new one? Also, in Ha, signs of activity (again around the equator) being carried into view as the Sun rotates - probably the return of the areas which were so obvious about three weeks ago.

Nice image Brian!.
I had the ETX set up this evening hoping for a visual on this tiny new spot in far northern lats but there was too much high level cloud around. Will try again tommorow.
That's two spots recently from the new cycle (although tiny), hopefully a sign that things are improving for solar activity.

Apr 23 - the two spots are still there though reduced in size. Also whilst the area looked quite active in Ha yesterday, today there is only a dark filament ... perhaps a sign that the area is decaying?
In fact the Sun looked unusually dull in Ha today, no significant prominences and little sign of other activity apart from the usual "orange peel" effect and the dark filament noted above.
