Martin alerted me to this new group of sunspots which have just come round the east limb. Managed this image at tea time though seeing conditions were not good. This looks to be a very complex region,though so far SOHO has not updated the numbers, presumably they will be 959 and 960.

Thanks Paul, yea this one seems to be crackling all over with flares and has already unleashed a couple of starters, let's hope for some aurora from this one.

Congratulations John, I knew that image was a winner! The best is yet to come with this group and with a bit of luck we may get to see aurora and NLC at the same time AGAIN
