Venus is now 35 arc seconds in diameter, larger than Jupiter at best.The phase is rapidly diminishing as it moves to inferior conjunction. Very faint disk markings could be seen using 250mm dob at X140 ( with professional grade optics ). Seeing moderate at 16.35, the observations in full daylight. Cloud was well dispersed and did not interfere unduly. Attachments:

I usually have the green filter in when getting ready to image Venus - I get the planet aligned with the whole optical train in place then just swap the eyepiece for the camera. Sometimes I can "see" apparent disc markings with the green filter, but the green band images never show anything but shading approaching the terminator. Try a blue / violet (Wratten 47) which gives the best chance of seeing the cloud bands which are best imaged in the ultra violet, and even then are not at all easy due to low contrast.
