Venus close to the meridian in full sunlight, seeing not too bad but not much detail to be seen even in UV.

Got another set with the bigger scope later in the evening. This needs much better seeing & I've found it very hard to get images when the sun is shining due to ground heat currents ... the contrast is lower too. Must try shooting with lower gamma, the cloud detail is clearer in the 1935 UT shot than in the earlier UV shots. The deterioration in UV as the planet's altitude decreases is clearly shown by the 2024 shot. Tried with 2x Powermate but the seeing was too unsteady.

Outstanding images, Brian. Getting any detail on Venus is extremely difficult. I have tried using the webcam, but only got a blank disk.

April 14th: Venus grows in size, shrinks in phase and the cloud detail doesn't get any easier to record!
