Hi folks, There will be an IAA observing session tonight, 18-2-12, at Delamont Country Park, starting around 7.30pm. I'd rate weather conditions as 50/50 according to BBC weather/Metcheck, but we should get a few clear spells. But be prepared to pack up quickly as we might get a sharp shower of rain/ sleet! It will also be cold, with stiff wind from north west, and a touch of ground frost, so take care on the roads etc. Usual conditions apply, wrap up warmly, and bring something to eat/drink etc. Our targets will be the spectacular winter milky way and if clear later on, a look at Mars! I'd like to welcome any new members and non members, indeed anyone interested in astronomy and telescopes etc, to come along with any telescopes/binoculars for some advice and a bit of craic! David B Stewart (observing coordinator)

It turned out a good night after all, Ivan, Tyrone and myself were the last to leave around 12.30am and I think if we had more tea and some grub we probably would have stayed until morning or cloud, whichever came first. It was very good to meet some of the new members and good craic was had by all Paddy

Hi Folks, Thanks to everyone who turned up at Delamont on Saturday night, our patience was rewarded when the clouds cleared away. Special thanks to Ivan for providing great views through his 12" scope, and good to see some new faces David. Attachments:
