Being local to the area (Larne), I think it's worth reporting at this stage that the weather is not as bad as the Met Office forecast says - no rain and indeed the Sun is fighting its way through bit by bit, so it's possible that a bit of observing may be on the cards!
Clear skies,
Paul.

Unfortunately the weather didn't clear, though I did catch a glimpse of Venus as I left Carnfunnock, but it was just a small gap in the clouds!
However, Jude and myself thoroughly enjoyed both talks - it was marvellous to hear Derek Heatly recount his experience of his journey into near space and his forthcoming sub-orbital flight while Andy McCrea was as entertaining and informative as usual.
And all perfectly organised - apart from the weather! - so thanks are due to the Council for putting that together.
Clear skies,
Paul.
