Hi All, The Orionid meteor shower put on an unexcpectedly good show last night including this bright fireball, www.meteorlogni.com/Meteors/2006/10/24/M20061024_010322_Ivyhill_WS.aviApprox magnitude -5 or -6 Went out until 2am last night and saw many meteors, most appeared to be Orionids but there were several 'others' as well which were quite bright. I will have to make a new plot of the Orionids when I get home, I think I got another 14 last night!

Last night (23-24th evening) there was what appears to be another peak in the Orionids meteor shower. I will wait to see if anyone else reports this before I can be sure. Last nights activity resulted in 17 Orionids being captured with 2 fireballs of around mag -5 in brightness. www.meteorlogni.com/Meteors/2006/10/24/M20061024_034333_Ivyhill_WS.aviapprox mag -5

That's more like it! The pink dotted circle is the radiant as it is located on the 19th Oct. As the days pass it drifts to the right, where most of the meteors are concentrated
