Another wonderfully transparent evening on Friday, with seeing which was above average by local standards. I tried imaging Mars at f/20 and at f/40, after careful processing the f/20 images are superior - the seeing just wasn't good enough to allow f/40 to work properly. Anyhow, here's the result: 2010 Feb 12, 2246 UT. CM 258 deg, diam 13.5 arc sec. Celestron CPC1100, 2x Powermate, Astronomik type 2c colour seperation & Planet Pro 742 filters, Imaging Source DMK21 camera. Transparency excellent, seeing moderate with constant boiling amplitude 2 to 3 arc sec. Wind calm, temp -1C.

Hi Brian, Your images of Mars are some of the best I have seen from this island and given the rather unfavourable opposition the detail is amazing. Regards Martin
