Hi All, It is possible that a new meteor stream has been found by the Japanese meteor observers. It appears to radiate from a point just above the 'neck' of ursa major (23 Ursae Major) between the 12th to the 17th October. The good thing about this stream is that most of the meteors are said to be bright! This one was about -0.5 mag from last year (date stamp on video is wrong, software bug!) www.meteorlogni.com/Meteors/2005/10/16/M20051016_053647_Ivyhill_WS.aviHave a look at this thread sonotaco.jp/forum/viewtopic.php?p=7264#7264Looking at the orbits that the Japanese have observed, it looks like the parent body may be an Apollo asteroid. The apollo asteroids are interesting because they have earth crossing orbits. The largest known member of this group is 10km in diameter, about the same size as the meteor that (might) have killed the dinosaurs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_asteroid
