Folks, There will be an IAA Observing Night at Big Colin carpark just outside Ballyclare on Friday 20th Oct. Meet around 8.00pm. Everyone is welcome to attend and if you have a scope or binoculars then bring them along. Bear in mind that it's starting to get colder, so wrap up well and bring something warm to drink. When parking your car, please park at right angles to the road, with the boot next to the road so that reversing lights don't disturb everyones dark vision. Don't forget red torches.
I'll post a note to this thread at around 6.00pm on the night to confirm if we are going ahead, incase the weather looks poor.
We hope to have along a ,10" Dob., a new 12" Lightbridge and an LX90 8" Sct. So the more the merrier. If anyone needs directions, then send me an e-mail to Phil_29@excite.com. I'll send you a map.
Also don't forget the next lecture on 18th Oct. in Stranmillis College at 7.30pm. It's Chris Lintott of BBC's Sky at Night, Sir Pat's co-presenter. Chris will be talking about 'Cosmology for the terrified'. Not to be missed. (See program header.) Look forward to seeing you there ! Best regards Pook
