Hi Bigeye, What about this new toy. Has it had it's first light and what do you think? Tell all! Any guesses what the 16" will be going for? Best regards Pook

Hi Pook, I've had it about a week or so, and got first light on the6th and again last night (9th). I looked at Vega to do a rough collimation as I ain't got a collimator yet. Also had a quick look at M27, M57, M29, M15, and the double cluster. The bright moon washed out the sky somewhat, but I was still able pick out plenty of detail, it all looks promising so far. I'm very pleased with the build quality , its well put together, and has some nice bits of hardware included. Its a lot of scope for the money (£599 from NDT). The price for the upcoming 16" is $2000, which will probably be around £1200-1300. Get Andy to order one for the IAA, for use at public observing sessions!!! BTW, I'm up for the observing on he 20th, I'll bring it along so you can have a look for yourself,
Regards David.
