At last the first impressive NLC display of the season appeared last night (2nd night in a row) from 00.00 - 03.00 BST (suspected much earlier) in the NW - NE sky extending for 90 degrees in azimuth and + 20* in height climbing above Capella at one stage. This was a fairly bright type 2.5 display consisting of long IIa bands with soft edges and IIIb waves against a background Veil. The display was an attractive white, blue and green colour above a bed of orange at the horizon. They faded, dropped in height and became diffuse after 01.00 then returned again before dawn with lovely cream-green waves low in the NE. A great show and a sign of greater things to come. tinypic.com/view.php?pic=6c64vsztinypic.com/view.php?pic=5x6h8qqtinypic.com/view.php?pic=4lo1w2dtinypic.com/view.php?pic=62p06kl
