is this event for members only? if not and i become a member can i bring a friend as a guest? they don't have any equipment so wouldn't really want to join

Hi, its not just for members, everyone is welcome. Be sure to wrap up really warm and some good thick footwear, it takes place in the carpark on the tarmac but your feet can feel the chill when not walking around much. Bring the binos if you have them :-)

Hi Cruiser, As Paddy says, all are welcome and you'll be able to have a look through various types of scope. We can give beginners help in getting the best out of their equipment and are up for most questions about, what's out there :>) Look forward to meeting you. Pook

Hi Cruiser and icthus,
Welcome to the IAA.....the best astronomy association this side of the Cosmos! We would encourage anyone with an interest in the night sky to join us at Delamont for our regular observing sessions, any non members are always welcome. As Paddyman says, wrap up well and check the observing forum around 6pm on any observing night to confirm go/no go, as these are dependent on the weather.

thanks guys, yes i'll be there then i bought a pair of binos so i'll bring them, along with my down jacket! will be great to see through a proper telescope too if possible just need a perfectly clear night now, hmmm what are the chances
