Hi all, Just wanted to encourage any newbies like myself to go along to one of the association observing nights. I went along tonight for the first time myself, the seeing didn't start out to good but as the night went on the sky cleared for an hour or two, But the best part was meeting everyone they really are a very friendly and welcoming group of people.

Hi, I have just joined, tho I've been following the site for some months. Just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed last nights stargazing at Delamont. What a great bunch of people and terrific clear skies! Thanks to everyone who let me (and many others) view the sky through your telescopes and camera! It really has fuelled my passion for my new hobby. I am looking forward to the next observing session - fingers crossed for Feb. D

Hi all
I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed Delamont on Friday. I took my brother and 3 nephews and opened up a new world (so to speak) to them with astronomy. I've met the members John (new), Neill, Paddy (at Oxford Island) and hope to meet a few more at the next meeting.

Hi Brendan, Delighted you enjoyed the evening. Next meeting at QUB is on the 8th Feb and will be another good night. Mike Simms is giving the talk and Mike's talks are always popular. (Meteorite expert) Make sure you say hello to the president after the meeting. Pook

Hi Brendan, dmu22 and Cruiser!!! Its good to hear you enjoyed the observing last Friday, a good pair of binoculars is an excellent way to start Cruiser, I had a scope to begin with and ended up getting a pair of bino's just for handiness and speed for those nights when there is only a few gaps in the cloud. Dmu22 hope to see you(or at least hear you) at next Delamont observing, its a lot more interesting when you not rushing around in a crowd and have time for Philip or David to point out interesting objects and how to find them easily. Brendan I remember talking to you at Oxford Island, did you find out the information you were looking advice on? I was at Delamont also on the 27th, think I caught glimpse of you at it outside door beside the BBC van although it was quite a busy evening with LOTS of people around :-) Hope to see you at an observing session if you get a chance :-)

Hi Paddy,
A few bits of information but I think going to the gazing events is the real way to learn. Hopefully make it to the 8th talk and then the next gazing event too.
