* Not of the actual event of course. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdfSumqfvIsI screen-capped this using Stellarium and Camstudio to explain to some friends what they can expect to see on the 21st. I'm just sharing it here in case it's of any use to anyone. If you have any ideas on how to improve the video please add your suggestions.

That's most interesting Martin. This is going to be a very tricky eclipse to see as it will need a very good W horizon and as the moon fades into the Earth's shadow the sky will brighten due to the oncoming dawn. However, for just a few minutes after sunrise there is the prospect of seeing both the Sun and the fully eclipsed Moon in the sky at the same time - I believe this is called a "Horizontal Eclipse". But the bad news is that the weather will have to be pretty much perfect - possible but unlikely!
The partnering Partial Solar Eclipse on 4th Jan 2011 requires a similarly good E horizon, though of course the contrast between Sun and Sky will be that much greater.
Paul.

I'm trying to figure out where would be a good place to see this in the event that the weather does 'cooperate'. I'm hoping to get a few photos.
Am I wrong in thinking that the best bet is a high location with a view of a low western horizon?
