Hi All, As is normal in this country, when you plan an observing session the clouds seem to get to hear about it. However, it looks as if will clear later (famous last words), so the Observing session is on. Meet in the car park on the right at the end of the drive at Delamont at 7.30pm. Please ensure you wrap up well and bring something warm to drink. The forecast appears better than tomorrow nights so we'll give it a try. Hope to see you all there! Pook

Hi All, Huge thanks to all who turned out last night! Clouds, what clouds? We were treated to spectacular skies, the ISS, a beautiful slow meteor, mag -3/-4 and we completed the observing challenge. What more could have been asked for? Pook

Sounds like you all had a good night, sorry I couldn't make it myself this time! I did manage to get a shot of the excellent ISS pass - the 1930 higher and brighter of the two - here it is... Paul.

Hi Allistair, Thanks for the post. Our next event is at Castle Espie on 26th March from about 8.00pm on. We should have a lot of telescopes with us as well as the mobile planetarium, which always draws a big crowd. Dr. Andy McCrea may be giving the star shows in the dome and he is also the owner of North Down Telescopes. I'm sure he will be delighted to offer you advice on the best buy and as I said a lot of us will be there, so you will be able to see a selection of various makes. This event is always very well supported and it is a good opportunity to not only encourage 'wee ones' but to ask plenty of questions. We will also be giving tours of the night sky so long as it's clear. Hope this helps and I look forward to seeing you both there. Pook
