Hi All, What a day that was! Superb talks, a huge range of telescopes on view and excellent audiances throughout the day. All of this was complimented by a large group of the public who gathered for the observing session at 7.00pm and who enjoyed the clear skies. All were enthralled to view the two most distant planets in our Solar System as well as, galaxies, nebula and double stars. Many joined our Association on the spot! It goes without saying that we are grateful to Dr. Tom Mason and his staff at Armagh Planetarium for their welcome and help throughout the day, which was very much appreciated. To everyone else who participated and helped, many thanks. Pook

Sounds like you had a great time! I was intending to come but developed a sniffle & decided it wasn't a good idea to inflict it on other people. Fortunately it hasn't resolved into a full blown cold yet, let alone a dose of the flying pigs.

It was an excellent event - Jude and I both enjoyed it immensely - there will be a picture gallery in due course.

Hello everyone. My friend and myself came across your event by chance last Saturday, we had just planned on a quick vist to the Armagh planetarium but that soon changed. Can i just say that the Talks were very educational, interesting and well explained for beginners like ourselves. The advice we got about dew hearters, astrophotography and scope setup was extremely helpful. We stayed on until 9.30pm and saw some pretty amazing views from the members telescopes setup in the car park and met some really friendly people like ourselves who had just turned up for the day. The wee nexstar 6 had to get pulled out when we got home to find some of the same things we had been shown how to locate but had forgotten the names.......Anyway i signed up for membership there and then, the mate is sending his form in this week and anyone who is reading this and thinking of turning up at an event to Dont Hesitate, Make a note of it in your diary, you will have a great time and probably learn more than you have in the years since you left school.
Special thanks to those we met there, esp. man who lent binoculars, it was an excellent experience, sorry im bad remembering names, and hope to see you again some clear evening soon :-)
