This is a rare event - this eclipsing variable star has a period of almost 10,000 days. It's well worth observing. I've had a go at devising a method which is more accurate than the usual visual estimation, but uses no telescope, just an ordinary digital camera, and written it up here: www.bbhvig.uklinux.net/eps%20aur%20090718.htmlI intend to follow the whole event, which will last until the end of 2010, making an observation two or three times oer month.
