Another image - M42/M43/NGC1977 Taken with the 80mm scope, modded 300d, on the EQ6. About 2 hours exposure. Need some more exposures to get the trapezium region resolved, but as usual it's been cloudy ever since! Adam

I dont think I've seen many shots of M42 that are better than these, bar Hubble of course! Can I ask, what is the secret to getting an EQ6 to track so accurately for 2hrs? Do you use an autoguider? Robert.

Adam, Superb shots. The new Sky at Night mag is out for Jan and M42 features as pic of the month. Your pic is way better! Very well done. Keep them coming. Pook

Robert - the 2 hours exposure is split into 5 - 10 minute subframes. I use an autoguider to control the exposure, and I guide through whichever scope I'm not imaging with - I have a 80mm Semi-apo piggybacked on a 6" Newtonian.
Pook - thanks for the comment - I rarely send my images in to Sky at Night, perhaps I should do it if you think it's up to the standard!
Many thanks guys Adam
