If you have a clear NE horizon there's a chance of seeing Mercury as a morning object from now till about the middle of July - but it's a poor elongation compared with the May evening one. The best chance during the rest of 2008 is as a morning object in mid-late October. As an evening object, there's really no chance at all until the last few days of the year. (From Northern Ireland, anyway. The late August/September evening elongation is superb for observers in the Southern hemisphere!)
