Hi All I've recently got into astronomy and have just splashed out on a Tal 1, but I'm finding the equatorial mout counter-intuitive, to say the least! Can anyone recommend a website with an 'idiot's guide' (preferably with pictures) for the bewildered? Unfortunately I can't make it to the meeting next Wednesday night - that would probably have been the easiest way to resolve the problem. Patrick.

Hi Patrick, Good to have you on board. I've had a quick look round for something simple, so have a look at this web site, which has some animation in it and see if it helps. www.astronomyboy.com/eq/Best regards Pook

Pook, Many thanks for that link, it explains it very clearly. I'll practice during daylight to try to get the hang of it. It now looks like I might be able to go on Wednesday after all. Hope to see you there. Thanks again, Patrick.
