There will be an extra observing session this weekend at out our usual spot at Delamont Country Park, due mainly to the fact that we didn't get a chance this month with the weather. We have had a great spell of settled weather with clear nights so I hope this will continue over the weekend. The forecast is for dry but cloudy skies during Friday, but I'm hoping for a few breaks in the evening, so check this forum thread again tomorrow for an update.
This bloody weather is so frustrating, clear all week then cloudy at the weekend! There will be a few clear spells but not in the east, where there will be mostly high cloud, so I'm afraid our extra session is cancelled.
Tomorrow night isn't looking any better so I think it's best to cancel that too.
Oh... that's a shame. Here's 10.30pm. Great for planets and moon viewing, awful for star gazing. :/ FLO's showing a clear night, everyone else is showing a cloudy night and BBC is broken. This is a shame. I guess I'm waiting for the moon to come back up for my next chosen target then! I'm eager for Jupiter to get back to a more reasonable hour.
The weather looked quite hopeful in the afternoon but the cloud rolled in from the east I only use the bbc weather website as it gives good cloud cover prediction (currently based on met office data, that contract is soon to finish)
