ADVANCE NOTICE The IAA's next scheduled observing session at Delamont Country Park is planned for the 13th-14th March, which is our first choice for observing this month. Unfortunately the weather has been a very mixed bag this week but prospects for Friday 13th are looking very good. So even at this stage, I'll stick my neck out and say observing at Delamont is ON. Usual rules apply, wrap up well (especially feet!!) and bring something to eat/drink etc. If you are new to our observing sessions at Delamont, please try to arrive no later than 8pm as other observers will be trying to get their eyes dark adapted and not spoiled by car headlights etc Also, please ask any of our regular members and experts on observing, they will be more than willing to help you find your way around the sky and enjoy the views through the telescopes etc. See you there Clear skies David (observing co-ord')

Hi all, I've been checking the weather forecast for the weekend, all was looking good until the latest forecast! I didn't expect the change of wind direction to blow cloud in off the Irish sea At this stage prospects are about 50/50, but I'll do and update tomorrow afternoon. Fingers crossed David

Enjoy it folks!

Last night was a bit disappointing, with all the cloud cover. Any chance of another go tonight?

Hi Ciaran Pity about the clouds last night! We will be aiming to observe at Delamont on any or all of our allocated dates depending of course on the weather. So check the forum again next weekend for an update. Hopefully Friday will be a great day for the eclipse and some observing at Delamont Clear skies David

Hi Keith, Plans for Friday are for Eclipse Watch at QUB (or other locations as per Terry's email), then the Jupiter Watch at QUB that evening. That will leave the Saturday evening free for Delamont. I won't mention the weather yet! David
