***ADVANCE NOTICE*** Hi all, After a no/go last weekend, the second choice for our IAA observing is this weekend, the 21st/22nd of November, but the forecast for Friday is looking awful, so at this stage, I'd say its cancelled in favour of Saturday 22nd, which is looking a lot more promising. Please check this thread again on Saturday afternoon, I'll post an update then, and if you are planning to come down, please reply to this thread or text me so I can get an idea of numbers etc. All welcome as always Fingers crossed David

Hello David
I've just registered on your forum and have been hoping to join your observing sessions for quite some time.
What time does the session run from and will the exact location be obvious from the main carpark at Delamont?
Regards, Jaa

Hi Jaa
Thanks for your interest, you are very welcome to join us at Delamont. Drive in through the entrance and follow road past caravan park until you reach main car park on your right hand side past a small hut. You will see some cars parked in middle of main car park. Please use dipped lights or side lights so you don't dazzle any astronomers! Start time is around 7.30 until midnight or later...
Clear skies David

Hi Folks, The weather is looking good for some observing tonight, so Delamont is "ON" for the 22/11/14. It should be a totally clear night (according to the BBC weather website) with only slight chance of patchy fog. Usual rules apply, wrap up well (especially feet!!) and bring something to eat/drink etc. If you are new to our observing sessions at Delamont, please try to arrive no later than 8pm as other observers will be trying to get their eyes dark adapted and not spoiled by car headlights etc Also, please ask any of our regular members and experts on observing, they will be more than willing to help you find your way around the sky and enjoy the views through the telescopes etc. Unfortunately, I can't make it tonight, so I hope the weather holds up and you all have a great evening of photon catching I'd also appreciate some feedback, so let me know how you all got on etc Clear skies David (observing co-ord')
