Hi folks, There will be an IAA observing session tonight, 12-10-12, at Delamont Country Park, starting around 7.30pm. Just drive in through the main gates and go to the main car park. I'd rate weather conditions as 50/50 with possiblity of localised mist and fog, but we may get a few clear spells. Usual conditions apply, wrap up warmly, and bring something to eat/drink etc. Our targets will be the summer milky way and if clear later on, a look at the mighty Jupiter! I'd especially like to take this opportunity to welcome any new members and non members, indeed anyone interested in astronomy and telescopes etc, to come along with any telescopes/binoculars for some advice. Unfortunately I can't guarantee any fireballs tonight, but you never know You can ring me on my mobile at 07808736963 David B Stewart (observing coordinator)

Wow, I have no idea what your night was like but I was working in Cookstown and took my binos out. The sky was beautiful, tremendously clear!

Hi Folks, Another cracking night at Delamont, thanks to all who were able to make it, not a cloud all night and at least 2 fireballs and several sporadic meteorites too ;D Lots of Milky Way objects where bagged then some fine views of Jupiter when it got high enough in the east. The only fly in ointment was the heavy dew, which dewed up the exposed secondaries and correctors on our scopes. Andy at North Down Telescopes can supply a handy 12v fan heater to those that require one, a must in our damp climate IMO;) Sorry you couldn't make it Ronny, maybe next time? Lets hope our luck continues.......... David.
