Seeing was moderate in the early evening & I imaged Venus in ultra violet with my Celestron CPC 1100. The cloud markings are becoming harder to capture as Venus's phase decreases, even though the disk is growing in size. 2012 Apr 27, 1906 UT. CPC 1100, prime focus, Astrodon UVenus filter, DMK21AU618. Planet's altitude 40 deg, diameter 35.6 arc sec, phase 0.297. Seeing wasn't too steady later on (is it every going to be until Saturn returns north of the equator?) but transparency was for once good & the cloud stayed out of the way. Tried imaging with 1.5x Barlow (which is considerably more in practice) and at prime focus, resizing to get a bigger image. See which you prefer. Here's an animation of the prime focus images, showing how the atmospheric bands differ with wavelength. And here is Saturn with some of its moons (and a few background stars). Mimas is hidden in the planet's glare, it was actually just leaving transiting Saturn's globe; Iapetus and Pheobe are outside the field.
