Hi folks,
There will be an IAA observing session tonight, 20-4-12, at Delamont Country Park, starting around 7.30pm. The weather conditions will hopefully be improving this evening with some clear spells into the early hours before more cloud and showery conditions tomorrow, so we may as well take our chances ;D Venus, Mars and Saturn will be on display, and for those wanting to stay on a bit later in the evening, we'll be looking at some springtime galaxies also. This is the last IAA observing session in the current programme, so "Come on down" for a bit of craic and enjoy the best of the springtime skies. Usual conditions apply, wrap up warmly, and bring something to eat/drink etc, and if you need some advice on your telescopes and binoculars, bring them along too.
See you there
David Stewart (observing coordinator)

Enjoy this session all - indeed the weather looks better later on. Sadly I'm just off an early shift - 0530 start this morning so won't be able to get down tonight. Don't miss the ISS pass starting at 2158, keep warm and enjoy!
Paul.

Just home at 2:45am, got unpacked, more tea, and came on to say thanks to everyone for another nights great craic at Delamont, The cloud for the first hour came in handy to give us all a chance to get to know the newer faces better and to catch up on the latest gossip When the clouds cleared though, wow, what a nice night sky we had. Ivan, David and Alan were pointing out some of the lesser known interesting objects. Seen galaxies or is it galaxy's?? that we had never seen before, lots of clusters, a few satellites, the ISS and some meteors. Also hot tea and some of Jo's chocolate biccies, a good excuse to get away from the house on a Friday evening So from Ryan and myself, Thanks again and hope to see you all soon at a Summer event or a meeting. Hi Folks, Thanks to everyone who attended our last observing session of the season, we had to wait a while but what a cracking night it turned out to be! When the skies cleared around 10.45pm the scopes came out and everyone enjoyed another fantastic night. Thanks also to Jo' for the bicci's and Sharon for the homemade cake......yummy! We are being spoilt I think everyone saw something new last night, I know I did! Good to see new faces also. Ivan got a new record for the number of galaxies in one night as well, so everyone has a big ;D Keep an eye on the front page and Terry's email alerts for upcoming IAA events during the summer, see you there!
