Another clear night, but transparency rather poor. Quite chilly here , air temp at 5C. Mars is becoming too small to discern any detail on the disk Pic taken at 23.03 UT Attachments:

Yes, Mars is shrinking, but there's still detail to be seen, even with a small scope, when the seeing is up to the mark. Got this at around 0027 UT this morning, 110 mm scope not properly cooled down, Mars way past the meridian, seeing none too steady: Tiny. This with 4x powermate and it's been resized 2x! But still some detail on the 11.4 arc sec disc. Syrtis Major just rotating into view at the morning terminator.

Mars is getting noticeably fainter and is below the rooftops around 01.00. However, some fleeting detail is seen during moments of steady seeing. Attachments:
