Hi Folks, Unfortunately, due to cloudy conditions, tonights observing session at Delamont is cancelled. According to the BBC NI weather news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/1/there may be brief clear spells in the early hours, but there may be some mist and fog, so its not worth it. (We'll all be tucked up in bed by then anyway?!) The forecast for tomorrow isn't much better, but check here tomorrow around 6pm for an update. PS. The above website is an excellent resource for predicting cloud cover for up to 48 hrs in advance, just move the slider across, it jumps in 3 hr intervals. Its updated regularly and I've found it very accurate. Clear skies (whatever they are!) David, IAA observing coordinator

Good call. Wall to wall stratocumulus here in Lisburn. Better luck tomorrow.

Hi folks,
Well you may have guessed, the observing session for tonight 29th is cancelled due to rather stubborn high cloud that won't clear off! Having said that, there may be a couple of brief clear spells during the evening so you might get a quick look at a few things with your bino's. Its just not worth the trip to Delamont for that. Our next observing session is on the 11th/12th Feb', we'll have the first quarter moon to look at (if its clear of course!) so start brushing up on your Selenography skills!
David.
