Hi folks, As part of 'Global Astronomy Month' April 2010, the IAA will be having a 'Springtime Galaxies' observing session at our usual spot down in Delamont Country Park, on 16th or 17th of April, starting at 8pm. We will be using our 16" Lightbridge to view some of the many galaxies and clusters on show at this time of the year, so if you haven't seen the 'Leo Trio' or M51, now is your chance! There will also be a nice conjunction in the west after sunset, with Venus, Mercury and a 2 day old moon. Usual rules apply.....try and be there before 9pm, wrap warmly and bring something to eat/drink etc. The forecast at the moment is looking better for Friday night, so check the forum at 6pm on friday for confirmation. Clear skies David Stewart (observing coordinator)

Hi Folks,
The weather is looking reasonably good for the first part of tonight, 16th April, so we will be down at Delamont Country Park from around 8pm. Bring your scopes and binoculars, and remember to wrap up and bring something to eat/drink.
Lets see how many galaxies we can knock off before the clouds roll in!
See you all there,
David.
