There is a large prominence on the NE limb of the Sun today. Hopefully there is an active area associated with it, if so it will rotate into view in the next few days! 2009 Aug 28, 1220 UT

Yes, I saw this through the IAA's PST down at Newgrange. Very impressive! Just goes to show that the Sun isn't completely inactive despite the lack of sunspots.
