Hi all, The IAA observing group kicks off the 2014-2015 season this weekend at our usual spot down at Delamont Country Park, 1 mile south from Killyleagh, on the Comber to Downpatrick Road. Of course, the weather dictates a go/no go, so usual rules apply, check this forum thread around 6pm on Friday 19th for an update on weather conditions. Delamont has really good dark skies and the Milky Way is easily seen arching overhead at this time of year. We will also have the late Summer constellations/nebula/galaxies to explore All members welcome and especially any new or non members are most welcome to join us, if you need any advice on astronomy and observing or equipment, we'll be glad to see you, the craic is always good David (observing coordinator)

Hi all, ADVANCE NOTICE: After checking the forecast for the 19th-20th, the observing session for the 19th is cancelled due to cloudy skies, but conditions are looking much better for Saturday the 20th, so Saturday is "ON". Usual rules apply, arrive around 7 to 7.30pm, bring your scopes and bino's, wrap up well and bring something to eat/drink etc. Unfortunately, I can't make it but there will be plenty of craic available! Clear skies David

Hi Neil, Yes, next planned observing is on 17th-18th October as our September observing is fulfilled. Last year however, i did a couple of observing sessions in September for new members, so if anyone is interested, let me know on my mobile or on here. If the weather is looking good this weekend, I might be up for another observing session depending on interest as I missed last weekend also my mobile is 07808736963 Clear skies David
