Hello, I am a new amateur and I have just purchased a new telescope on internet. It is a Sky-Watcher Explorer-200p with EQ5 mount. Does anyone know of anyone that would be willing to help me set it up. I live in the Banbridge area. regards

Hi Gary,
Congrats on your 8" Skywatcher, I hope it will give you many hours of observing pleasure! I can highly recommend bringing your new kit down to our observing sessions at Delamont Country Park, not only are the skies excellent for observing, there is also plenty of good advice to help you get the most out of your scope etc.
Keep an eye out for our observing sessions starting again in September.
Oh, and welcome to the IAA forum!
David

Hi Gary, I also have the 8" Skywatcher and find it a great scope. I take it you mean setting up as in polar alignment because there is a good site astronomy shed with some good vidoe's for setting up your scope. The guy who runs the site also has the same telescope so it was easy for me to understand what he was talking about. I live in Lisburn area so i could help if you need it but as David said get out to the observing sessions and down to queens when the lectures start up again they are very happy to help.

Hi,
I have a new telescope and would like someone in the Stranmillis area of Belfast to help me set it up.
