Hi all,
The IAA observing group kicks off the 2013-14 season this weekend at our usual spot down at Delamont Country park. After a week of cloud mist fog and rain, it looks as though things may improve by this weekend. At the moment it looks like there will be clearing skies late on Friday night, so Saturday may be the best option. Usual rules apply, check this forum thread around 6pm on Friday 27th for an update on weather conditions.
I'd like to take this opportunity to invite any new or non members to join us, if you need any advice on observing or equipment, we'll be glad to see you.
David (observing coordinator)

Hi Folks,
Unfortunately the cloudy conditions are still with us, but the forecast is improving and Saturday night is looking promising, so we'll cancel tonight and aim for that. Again, check this forum thread around 6pm on Saturday for a go/no go.
Yes Paddy, its time to get the dust off!

Hi folks,
The weather is looking good this evening so there will be an IAA observing session tonight, 28-9-12, at Delamont Country Park, starting around 7.30pm. There may be some cloud later on but there should be plenty of viewing opportunities. Just drive in through the main gates and go to the main car park. Usual conditions apply, wrap up warmly, and bring something to eat/drink etc. Our targets will be the summer milky way and if clear later on, a look at the mighty Jupiter! I'd especially like to take this opportunity to welcome any new members and non members, indeed anyone interested in astronomy and telescopes etc, to come along with any telescopes/binoculars for some advice and a bit of craic!
You can ring me on my mobile at 07808736963
